Our instructor:

Mentorship Approach

1. Identify Research Interest (Free Session)

In this introductory session, the student will meet with the instructor to discuss their interests, skills and goals.

The student will share a few area and ideas that they are interested in working on. Based on the input, the instructor will brainstorm and suggest a few research projects to the student.

This session is free. Parents are welcome to join if interested.

2. Machine Learning Crash Course

In preparation for the research project, the instructor will teach the student relevant machine learning concepts that are needed for the project.

3. Structure the Research Problem and identify relevant Datasets

The instructor will work with the student in dissecting and structuring the research problem into concrete action items.

The students will also get guidance on finding relevant datasets, and research papers that will be used for the project.

4. Work on the Research Problem

The student will start working on the action items (described above) and meet with the instructor at regular cadence to share their progress and discuss any roadblocks that they might be encountering.

4. Start Writing the Research Paper

(Do I see 4. repeated? Yes, that's a feature not a bug 🙂)

In parallel to working on the research problem, the student will also start working on writing the research paper. There are multiple sections of a research paper, and a successful research paper requires that all sections are well written and thorough.

The instructor will guide the student on how to research and write a good research paper.

5. Collate Results, Finalize Paper and Submit

Once the student has convincing results for the research problem, the instructor will guide the student on how to collate and present them in the research paper.

The instructor will review the paper, and identify the most suitable conference to submit the paper.

6. Address Reviewers' Comments and Feedback

After the paper is submitted, the conference reviewers will read the paper and provide comments and feedback on how to improve the paper ever further.

The instructor will help the student address the comments and feedback from the conference reviewers, so that students submit the best version of their paper.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the Program

Q. How does MLCamps differentiate itself from other similar AI projects programs?

What sets us apart from other similar programs is the experience of the Instructor:

The other thing that sets us apart from other programs is the No re-use / re-package policy

We believe in finding new and unique custom projects for a group of students. Working on unique projects significantly increase the chances of the publication, and also makes a big difference in the College application.

Q. Why should I work on AI Projects?

Working on AI research projects will help you get the much needed edge for the college application. It will help you demonstrate your interest in the subject of Computer Science, Machine Learning, and the related fields through hands on learning experience and via innovative research contributions to the field. Starting to work on a research project at high school level under the guidance of a seasoned mentor will provide you a structural approach to problem-solving.

Identify a research problem --> Literature review --> Data collection and analysis --> Use AI algorithms to find a solution --> Result and Conclusion

Participating in scientific conferences require rigor, practice, knowledge and conviction - the attributes which are highly valued and coveted for in a college application. Working on AI projects with an aim to publish in a research conference is a perfect way to start your journey.

Q. How do I sign up for the AI Projects program?

As the student decides to embark into this journey, the  student gets a Free introductory session with the instructor to identify the research interest. Parents are welcome to join this session.

After the introductory session, we will take feedback from both you and the instructor for the next steps. Once we receive a go ahead from both you and the instructor, we will send you a payment link to make a lumpsum payment of the fee amount.

Q. How much does the AI Projects program cost?

The program fees is $7,999 $5,999 (25% off for a limited time)

Q. Do you have a referral program?

Yes, we do have a referral program as stated below:

Program Logistics

Q. What does the AI Project schedule look like?

For these meetings both in-person (in Sunnyvale, CA), and virtual options are available.

Q. Will the students work individually or in groups?

We do not impose any restrictions on whether the students should work individually or in groups.

However, based on our experience, working in groups does improve the chances of acceptance for a research paper. Multiple students working together on the same problem do much more work than someone working individually. This results in a more 'information dense' research paper thereby increasing its chances of acceptance.

Our suggested group size is 2-3 students per research project.

Q. Can you help us find project partners?

It depends on our enrollments and students' interests. However, if you have a friend who is equally motivated and have the same skill level, then we can definitely pair you up.

Q. Do I need to have Machine Learning knowledge to enroll in this program?

Not necessarily. We think of this program as 'Learning ML on the job'.

Our instructor will provide a crash course where they will teach the machine learning concepts that are needed for the successful implementation of the project.

Q. Do I need to have coding experience to enroll in this program?

Yes. We will be using Python based Machine Learning libraries. Therefore, the students are expected to have a basic knowledge of Python

Q. Is the program in-person or virtual?

We offer both In-Person and Virtual sessions. In-person sessions will be provided in Downtown, Sunnyvale. Office Address: 100 S Murphy Ave, Ste 200, Sunnyvale, CA

Q. Will the Instructor develop the project or write the paper for us?

No. This is a student-driven program. The instructors are here to provide mentorship and guidance

Q. Do you guarantee the acceptance of our paper in a Conference?

Truth be told, even the AI legends like Geoff Hinton or Andrew Ng can't guarantee the acceptance of a paper, especially in double-blinded conferences. And we are mere mortals in-front of them 😉.

We can work on submitting our best work, but can't guarantee an acceptance of the paper.

Post Completion

Q. Will I get a certificate for completing this program?

Yes, we will provide a certificate of research collaboration upon the completion of the program.

Q. Can I seek advice on future career paths in Machine Learning or college admissions?

Absolutely. Our instructors are there to help you every step of the way and you are free to ask them questions on future career paths and college admissions.

Q. Can I get recommendation letter in future if needed?

You may certainly reach out to us for a recommendation letter. It will be provided on the discretion of the Program Director.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

Once you enroll in the program, we do not allow for any cancellations / refunds.

If you are unable to work on the project due to unforeseen circumstances, we can provide you a buffer of 3 extra months to work on it.
